A few words About CMRA

The Centre for Municipal Research and Advice (CMRA) is a specialist firm in soft infrastructure project management and fund administration, dedicated to strengthening local government in Southern Africa. Established in October 2005, CMRA was born from a partnership between the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) and the Netherlands Association of Municipalities (VNG International). Today, it operates as a 100% black-owned company, led by a team of young, dynamic, and highly skilled professionals committed to transforming the local government landscape—one municipality at a time.

At CMRA, we co-create solutions and drive systemic and institutional reform within municipalities. Our approach combines strategic partnerships, international best practices, and innovative problem-solving to enhance the capacity of local governments.

Through ideation, proposal development, and resource mobilization, we work with development stakeholders to strengthen the institutional capabilities of local government, ensuring efficient service delivery—24/7, all year round.
