Dullar Omah Institute

The Dullah Omar Institute (DOI) entered into a partnership with the International Budget Partnership- South Africa (IBP-SA), to produce the Metropolitan Open Budget Survey (Metro OBS). The objective of this research project was to measure budget transparency, participation and oversight in targeted metropolitan municipalities, and providing guidance on the nature of information to be published in order to facilitate improved public participation. The targeted metros were the City of Johannesburg, eThekwini, Nelson Mandela Bay, Ekurhuleni and the City of Cape Town.
