CMRA participated in the Metropolitan Open Budget Survey in partnership with the International Budget Partnership South Africa, measuring budget transparency, participation, and oversight in five metropolitan municipalities: City of Johannesburg, eThekwini, Nelson Mandela Bay, Ekurhuleni, and the City of Cape Town. CMRA completed detailed questionnaires through website analysis and official interviews, contributing to guidance on improving public financial participation.
