The aim of the project was to conduct a scoping assessment of the business landscape of City of Mbombela and Enoch Mgijima Local Municipalities.

Objective (s) of the project:

• To assess the local business landscape and environment in the two municipalities;
• To profile the type, activities and needs of local businesses
• To develop Case Studies to identify business needs and constraints, as well as profile existing cooperation between businesses and municipalities
• To consolidate a local business database

The results included:

• Profile of businesses operating in the jurisdiction of City of Mbombela and Enoch Mgijima Local Municipalities
• Practice Case Studies on improving interaction and relationship between private sector and local
government
• Commitment by businesses and two municipalities to make effort to meaningfully engage with one another.
• Commitment to follow the focus areas that were raised in separate engagements in the municipalities to create a conducive environment for economic development in the two localities.
