CMRA served as the Programme Coordination Unit for this large-scale LED programme aimed at significantly reducing poverty and creating sustainable employment in the Eastern Cape. CMRA established and operated a Local Government Support Fund, Local Competitiveness Fund, and Empowerment Fund; developed monitoring and evaluation systems; organised LED strategy workshops; and promoted intergovernmental LED strategy alignment across participating municipalities.
